V is for RE-VIEW

V is for RE-VIEW

We are just about done with the A to Z RE-DESIGNING your Life Challenge.

It’s time to RE-VIEW just how far you’ve come and catch up on any unfinished tasks.mag2

Take a look at all the time that you have put into this challenge and the suggested activities.

What have you found to be the most beneficial?

Have there been subtle changes or drastic ones?

What is/was the most difficult?

Which ones still need your attention?

binocAt any given moment we can look back on our lives and find both blessings and regrets.

Wouldn’t it be great to tip the scales in your favor and stack the deck so your memories can be OUTSTANDING?

Of course we can all lose track, get behind in our work, and ‘fall off the horse’ so to speak.

Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and keep going.

So maybe you’ve made some mistakes, missed a few deadlines etc. The time that you spend beating yourself up can be used instead to get on with the next best thing to do in your best interest. You’ve beat yourself up enough and I doubt that it did you any good.

Someone once told me. “You can’t beat yourself UP!”  “What your really doing is beating yourself DOWN!.” Nothing good can come out of that- its just a waste of time. It’s a habit worth breaking.

Moving forward from here on out, what would you like to put in place in your life right now, so when you look back in a week, a year or 5 years you can smile and say “YES! I made the best possible choices!” “I used my power productively.” “I’m so glad that I did (or didn’t) do/say that!”

If it will help or make you feel better find yourself an ‘ ACCOUNTABILITY BUDDY.’ A friend who would like to go through all the steps and challenges by your side. They don’t need to share their info/process- that can be kept private. You can gently encourage and nudge each other to complete the whole process from A to Z, and then you can both celebrate together! (and create an accomplishment memory together).journaling1

So wipe that slate clean, stop keeping score, and continue in a direction that best suites your needs.

Until we meet again…Have a VICTORIOUS day!

U is for RE-UPHOLSTER

Did you ever see a piece of furniture that had been worn out and tattered?

What comes to mind?

“Wow, it must have been the best chair in the house to have gotten so much use and attention, I wonder what happened?”

Can you relate to that chair?

Have you gotten so busy or caught up with the responsibilities of life that you could use some time and attention to your details?

Lets talk about 3 physical things that would have a huge impact on your appearance and attitude.crazy smile

Turn your frown upside down. Have you ever heard that expression?

Putting a smile on your face greatly improves your presence.

Not a fake, plastered smile.

Tune into a happy memory or thought and let it show on your face.

Wear it as often and as long as you can.

feet4Next, lets put a little pep in your step.

Yes I know you may be harried or busy or in a hurry.

Throw your shoulders back and walk with intention.

Prance, glide or strut your stuff with pride.

It will improve your mood and your day.

Picture yourself literally walking towards a goal or a dream, your one step closer to the target.

Lastly, is there literally a piece of furniture that has seen better days?

It would do you a world of good to either give it an overhaul or simply let it go and replace it.

Until we meet again….Have a UNIQUE day!

T is for RE-TELL

T is for RE-TELL

We all have our story.

It’s who we are or have created ourselves to be.

It’s a big part of our psyche and it influences our daily thoughts, behaviors and actions.hold mouth

It’s how we define ourselves and project ourselves to others.

I’m sure you’ve heard that there is always more than one side of the story.

It depends how you look at it, how you perceive it.

At any given time we can reiterate it, step by step with all of its pain, misery, struggles, hardships, hurts and woes. From time to time we can sprinkle in a little hope, laughter, love, happiness, joy, fun and gratitude. It depends what you focus on and what emotion or reaction that you would like to solicit from others. Do you spin a tale of woe or wisdom?

spiralThink about that for a moment.

It can be quite manipulative and self-sabotaging. Did you ever listen to how you speak about yourself and others? Are there certain words that you always use? Biases that come into play? Where did all of that come from? Do you wonder?

Do you realize that most of what you think and perceive is implanted in your childhood? Children do not have the same tools, skills, knowledge and resources that adults do. They do the best that they can, yet it is a very limited experience.

My challenge for you today, is to look at one of your ‘stories.’ Really look at it and see how a child would understand it and how an adult can view it. You might be surprised that they can be very different. Same experience – two different points of view. Are there emotions or points of view that you may be stuck on?  Just for a few minutes could you entertain the possibility of it being other than you have been led to believe?  Just for a few moments?  Can you look at the ’emotional charge’ of the situation and put it in a different context?  See it in another light? Can you allow yourself to work through it and see a different version?

Once you’ve sat with that for awhile you may be able to RE-TELL that story in a new light.

Just a thought.

Until we meet again….Have a TERRIFIC day!sunrise set

S is for RE-SET

Sooner or later you run out of steam- energy- gas.

Trying to be all things to all people, you can end up running yourself ragged.empty

Your day is filled with endless tasks and to-do lists.

You go and go and go and go……

Day in and day out there is ALWAYS something to do. Rushing around like a hamster on a wheel, not knowing how to slow down or stop.

It’s no wonder that you feel so tired and burned out.

It’s time to RE-SET.

Plan a specific time just for you.

Find a half hour or hour somewhere in your week.

You can start with finding 5 minutes in your day and work your way up from there if you need to.

Find a quiet space or a place that is ‘less noisy’ than your usual environment.

Connect to yourself and relax into your breaths.

Right now there are no ‘shoulds’ or ‘have-tos’ – Just enjoy the adult ‘Time-Out’ session.

Remember who you are and just ‘chill’ for a bit.

Make that connection and feel whole again.

Get tuned-in and re-energize.

Feel the stillness and relax.

Experience the peace and have your very being smile.

Everything will be there waiting for you when you’re done…right where you left it.

For now – for a few minutes – it just wont occupy your space- physically or mentally.

Until we meet again…Have a SENSATIONAL day!

R is for RE-ROUTE

R is for RE-ROUTE

Our brains are constantly on the go. Planning this, worrying about that.think1

It takes up most of our waking hours.

Exactly how productive and pro-active is YOUR thinking?

We think we know what’s best for others. We can be very judgemental and opinionated.

At times there is a lot of stinkin’ thinkin.’

As a society we’ve become very quick to compare and criticize everyone around us.

You have enough burdens and concerns of your own than to try to carry someone elses-especially if they haven’t even asked for your help.

think3Its time to Re-ROUTE your thinking.

For the next 7 days when you see someone, can you think of one nice things about him or her?

It has to be a genuine, heartfelt observance or thought, something a little deeper than – “Great shoes.”

If you find yourself judging or criticizing others take a step back and ask yourself “Why am I doing this?”

Don’t forget to include yourself in the mix as well.

Do you think you can do it? Will you be able to do it for the full 7 days? Can you do at least 5? Can you make it past the first hour?

Until we meet again…Have a RADIANT day!think2
